Justin and Jennifer are the lead investigators at Sunrise Archaeology, a New Zealand based business.
Our combined work experience has taken us throughout the Pacific region, from urban to remote places.
When not working, we tend to wander off to a place where the ocean is warm and full of fish.
Justin is an archaeologist and paleobotanist. As a field archaeologist, he has a wide range of experience leading cultural heritage management projects of all sizes. This includes large field surveys, excavation, and work with buildings archaeology / built heritage. He has also conducted specialist paleobotanical research in the field and laboratory. Work locations include New Zealand, Chatham Islands, Rapa Nui (Easter Island), Hawaii, and Micronesia.
Jennifer is an experienced researcher and archaeobotanist / palaeoethnobotanist. She specializes in the study of wood and other plant materials from archeological sites. Her practice includes working with clients from all walks of life, as well as collections in museums and archives. Study locations include New Zealand, Hawaii, Samoa, the Marquesas Islands, and Micronesia.
